September/October 2021 Newsletter

Greetings all,

Well, we have made it through another Texas summer. All in all, I feel it has been a great summer. Its been wonderful to see friends - old and new - getting out and flying during the good weather. Traffic has been steadily increasing for the last 10 months or so. Aviation in Texas is going strong.

As some of you may know, I have begun taking lessons to get my PPL. Although I have been around and involved in aviation in one way or another for the last 27 years, it has given me a new perspective with regards to flying. I am truly blessed to have this opportunity to learn what I know are just the basics when it comes to flying. I found out just how much I didn’t know about aviation, even though I was sure I knew it all. Just kidding! It’s been exciting and terrifying all at the same time, sometimes more terrifying for my instructor than me, I’m sure.

Just to keep everyone up to date, the Airport Manager Joseph Carney retired and Jeff Belding is the Interim Airport Manager during the process of hiring a new manager. I expect everything will be business as usual at the airport while the search is being conducted.

Thank you again to everyone who has sent in the recent requested documents to complete our files, the majority of which were just updating insurance policies. We appreciate you helping us stay efficient and up to date.

With that said, we have been integrating a new software program for the FBO. I think I spoke a little bit about it in the past. FlightBridge is a platform that allows us to integrate all of the major service of the FBO in to one system. It also allows customers to receive quick confirmations and acknowledgment of requested services. It brings arrivals, departures, car rental, hotel, catering, hangar, ramp, and fuel into one screen which our Customer Service Representatives can control and confirm. All of this information is simultaneously sent to both the Line office and three iPads the Line Service Technicians use. The information exchange is instant, the services are color coded to help with communicating whether a particular service has been completed, needs to be completed or any other status. We are still getting use to it, but I have seen the benefits already.

As always, I want to thank all of you for allowing us the honor of serving you!
