July/August 2020 Newsletter

Greetings to all the GTU Jet family,

Even if you are not a tenant or customer, the fact that you are receiving and reading this newsletter makes you a part of the family. As I sit down at my desk to jot down some thoughts, I am thinking about the four day vacation I just returned from with my family. While times are challenging, it's always family that seems to bring out the best in us. When things are not as good as I would want them to be, just seeing a customer (family member) walking through the front door brings a smile to my face. Chatting with customers about their day, their aircraft or their family, is the best part of my day. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful customers and friends.

I spoke with the Airport Manager today to see if he had any updates to share about the airport. He informed me that the taxiway and runway project should be completed by the end of August. An Airfield Lighting Control & Monitoring System (ALCMS) update should be completed by the end of next week, giving the tower operators control of the lighting. Some signage is also being wrapped up. No other construction projects are slated to begin in the immediate future.

GTU Jet is ensuring we maintain compliance with the Governor's mandate as well as the City of Georgetown's mandate regarding the COVID 19 restrictions. We ask that all persons visiting our FBO maintain a minimum of 6 feet distance. If that is not possible then we ask that you wear a face covering. If you are medically or otherwise exempt, we ask only that you advise us upon entering.

As we continue to adjust to the ever-changing situations COVID 19 causes, we added an additional part time employee. Anastasia De La Cruz has joined us. Anastasia will be filling in as a CSR and as a Line Technician. We will include a highlight article about Anastasia in the next newsletter.

Please take care of your family as we will endeavor to take care of ours!

As always, we can't do it without you!
