March/April 2020 Newsletter


Greetings all,

The last month has been challenging to say the least. I hope this letter finds all of you safe and healthy. As information and directives from local, state, and federal agencies comes in daily, we have been working to balance daily business operations with customer and personnel safety. We erred on the side of caution by temporarily reducing our business hours until we could implement safety protocols to protect our customers and employees. We believe we have taken the necessary precautions and have returned to normal operating hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00am to 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

I want to thank all of you for patience and understanding during these uncertain times. All normal services are available to customers however, we will no longer have cookies, popcorn and mints available in the FBO. The crew car is also available for use with certain precautions, namely increased sanitation efforts.

As you are aware, the city has been attempting to finish installing taxiway lighting for a few weeks now. The weather continues to be a factor and has delayed the project. Once complete, it will be a very nice improvement. We will continue to inform you of closures as we receive the information from the city.

Please continue to monitor our emails and newsletters as new orders and requirements are being put in place daily. We will strive to keep you updated as best we can.

Governor Abbott issued a proclamation regarding the Executive Order which mandates self-quarantine for individuals arriving from the New York Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut) and New Orleans, Louisiana. The Executive Order went into effect March 30 and now includes air travelers arriving from the following states and cities:




Atlanta, Georgia

Chicago, Illinois

Detroit, Michigan

Miami, Florida

Please note if you are flying from the areas listed above and plan to stay in Texas, you will need to report directly to the Airport Offices in the Terminal building to complete a mandatory self-quarantine form.

We understand this is a fluid situation and is constantly changing. If you have any questions please contact Airport Management directly at (512) 930-3666.


As of Monday, April 6, we have resumed our normal business hours.

The FBO will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

We value our customers and your business during these uncertain times and will continue to provide the best service you are accustomed to.

Did you know that the Capital of Texas EAA Chapter 187 hosts their meeting at KGTU? Meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at 500 Terminal Drive (the main terminal building).
