January 2019 Newsletter


Greetings All,

Happy New Year! I hope 2019 brings happiness and prosperity to everyone. We are excited at GTU Jet to start 2019, and we are looking forward to great things this year. As always, we are honored to have you as a part of our family as we start this new year.

I've been advised by the City that the efforts for securing a new Airport Manager will be starting over. We look forward to working with whomever is chosen to continue the efforts towards a safer and more efficient airport for all users.

As most of you know, Airport Road has been improved. The traffic control lights are now in place and working. It's great to see the support from the City in recognizing the need for the upgrade.

During a recent safety meeting here at the airport, the City advised that we should receive more detailed information and specifically, construction dates, regarding the runway resurfacing by January 15th. As soon as we receive that information, we will put out a special newsletter to keep you informed. We have been working closely with the City of Georgetown's Public Works Director, Mr. Octavio Garza, over the last few months during the absence of an Airport Manager and I must say it has been a pleasure to see his enthusiasm for the airport and its users.

Tower Manager, Don Hall, has sent out a survey to assist in providing the best service possible.

Please complete the user satisfaction survey and return to the tower via email GTU@RVAINC.com, fax to 512-868-3590, or drop it off at the Terminal Building.

GTU Jet has office space available in Building 4 - conveniently located for easy access to the airport runways.

The available 654 square foot area includes eight (8) offices, a separate entrance, and shared access to the restrooms and break room. Space is filling up fast so make 2019 the year to sign a lease! Give Brad Lamb a call at (512) 869-0900.



Catherine (Cat) Sexton started at GTU Jet in October 2018 as our Sunday Customer Service Representative. In addition to working at GTU Jet, Cat is also a full time office manager/HR coordinator for a small software database team.

Cat's favorite part of working at GTU Jet is meeting new people. Being new to the industry, Cat enjoys constantly learning about aviation.

When not at GTU Jet, Cat enjoys cooking and entertaining. Also, one of her passions is taking cruise vacations. Every year, Cat takes a cruise with friends and family.
