December 2017 Newsletter


Greetings to the GTU Jet Family,

I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to those of you who may not already know me. My name is Brad Lamb. For the past year and a half I served as the Operations Manager and I'm excited to step into my new role as General Manager of GTU Jet.

I come from a diverse background, including several years of FBO work. I have worked with Signature Flight Support (Anchorage Alaska International Airport), Timberline Aviation FBO (Grand Junction Colorado), and Black Canyon Jet Center (Montrose Colorado). I was also able to squeeze in some time working in Law Enforcement. I've always been drawn to aviation. I attribute my fascination with aviation to my father, who retired after serving for twenty-two years in the U.S. Air Force.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as GM for such a great FBO and to work with such wonderful customers. We are in the business of creating relationships with all our customers and it is my philosophy that we take care of you the same way we would want to be taken care of. The way we accomplish this is through best practices and attention to detail. We are not interested in just meeting customers' expectations, we strive to exceed them.

Accountability is another attribute we hold close. We offer solutions, options, and creativity - not excuses. We are happy to be your FBO and we are proud to serve, both new and existing customers.

Please feel free to drop by my office anytime you're at the FBO. I welcome all opinions, comments, or concerns. Our promise to you is that we will always strive to improve. We can always be better.

As 2017 comes to an end, I find myself excited for what 2018 is going to bring to GTU Jet. We'll talk more about that in next month's letter. My wish for all is to have a safe and Merry Christmas!

It's that time of year again, and we would like to inform our tenants and customers of our modified holiday hours.

Christmas Eve (12/24) - Normal business hours (8:00am - 6:00pm)

Christmas Day (12/25) - 8:00am - 6:00pm (FBO Lobby closing at 3:00pm, Line Service Technician here until 6:00pm)

New Years Day (1/1)- Normal business hours (7:00am - 7:00pm)

Don Powell has returned to the GTU Jet team. For those of you who haven't met Don, here is a little bit of background.

Don served 20 years in the US Army, where he held numerous positions from Crew Chief on Apache helicopters, Maintenance Supervisor, Production Control, Platoon Sergeant, Senior Maintenance Trainer/Evaluator, First Sergeant, and Battalion Sergeant Major.

After retiring from the Army, Don worked several years as a Program Manager/Integrator for the US Army Apache Helicopter Project Management Office in their San Angelo facility. There he monitored the air frame, avionics, and aircraft survivability equipment modifications of post-delivery Apache Helicopters. Upon the closing of the San Angelo facility, Don made the decision to retire and stay in Texas where he and his wife Christa bought a house in Round Rock.

In his spare time, Don enjoys hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and recently started training for his Private Pilot License. It is great to have Don back at GTU Jet as our Line Service Manager!


With the winter months upon us we would like to take a moment to remind you of the importance of winterizing your aircraft.

At GTU Jet, we pride ourselves on the number of services we offer our customers. Did you know that we offer TKS Deicing Fluid service? TKS is an anti-ice/deice system originally developed during WWII to protect military aircraft.

We're happy to refill your TKS system for you for $24.95 per gallon. This is the same price you'd expect to pay from other sources, but we'll refill your system for you as an added service.
