KEN'S CORNER

Things are cookin' at GTU Jet!

As anticipated, with runway 18/36 open for business again, a constant stream of aircraft are taxiing up to GTU Jet every day.  If you helped with the word of mouth advertising I asked for in last month's newsletter, thanks a million!  It seems to be working.  Our Line Service team is whipped by the end of their day, and we're looking for smiling new faces to join us to help provide some relief.

Things are picking up on the office leasing front as well.  We have a new office tenant in Building 4, two more that are looking to come and set up shop, and an existing tenant in Building 1 is that considering expansion.  We have over 63,000 square feet of hangar space at GTU Jet.  It may not look like it but we're approaching 99% hangar occupancy.  Many aircraft are out flying or in maintenance right now.  If they all came home to roost at once, it would be an impressive sight indeed.

With ramp resurfacing completed in front of the FBO, we're ready for our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony hosted by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.  Final confirmation of attendees is still pending, but the President of GAABT Aviation will be on hand along with the team from Texas Aviation Partners.  The event will be held at our new FBO in building 4, at 600 S. Hangar Drive, Wednesday, August 30th at 12:15.  We'll be serving a light lunch and refreshments.  I hope you will come out and join the fun.  Please RSVP with Caitlin at cchiacchia@gtujet.com.

I think that covers it for this month. As always, thanks for your business.  We truly couldn't do it without you!

Best regards,

FROM THE RAMP

Greetings from the ramp at GTU Jet!

With many years of experience working at FBOs around the country, I've seen it all and have some tips on how to ensure the smoothest experience no matter where your travel takes you. A little planning and organization can help you avoid big delays.

After deciding which FBO to utilize at your final destination, notify the FBO in advance of your arrival and provide as much detail as possible including arrival time, overnight hangar needs, fuel orders, and anticipated departure. Not all FBOs offer the same services so be sure to inquire about any special requests you may have. This can be anything from animal care, crew and rental cars, hotel accommodations, and access to your aircraft during your stay. Making this part of your flight planning routine is the easiest way to remember every time you fly.

Calling ahead will ensure you're picking the FBO that can meet all your needs and lessens the chance of any surprises when you arrive. This is also a great opportunity to discuss potential discounts and specials the FBO may be offering. In my experience, if an FBO has adequate time and information to prepare for your arrival, you'll receive better service.

At GTU Jet, we want our customers to have the best experiences possible when traveling - not just here at home! We hope these tips prove helpful.

Be safe,

GTU Jet's Building 3 is the perfect solution for an aeronautical company or flight department looking for an all-in-one solution. This hangar is perfectly located for easy access to runways, making getting in and out a breeze.

The adjacent 1,728 square feet of office space includes four (4) offices, receptionist area, and two (2) bathrooms (including shower). The 12,200 square foot hangar features large sliding doors (79.5' wide x 19.8' high), monitored fire suppression, and a compressed air system.
