KEN'S CORNER

We're Moving!

I've been alluding to it for months but we're finally ready to announce our exciting news. We're moving FBO operations to GTU Jet Building 4 located at the base of the ATC tower. The official move date is Monday, May 8th. We will continue to operate the ramp at Building 1, but our new location makes us easier to find for pilots visiting Georgetown for the first time. We're moving into a fresh, new space featuring an attractive lobby with an outstanding view of the runway and flight operations. Facilities include a flight planning area, pilot snooze room, conference facilities and a larger break room and rest area.

We've also secured a dedicated ASRI frequency enabling air to ground communications with the FBO as you are inbound to Georgetown. We've invested heavily in ground support equipment to empower expanded operations including a new diesel powered GPU, lavatory cart, and nitrogen service. Naturally, we can't do anything without our professional team of aviation service professionals. We're staffed up, trained up, and ready to hit the ground running!

For most existing tenants, you'll probably want to continue launching from Building 1 (east ramp). Just call or email us as you would normally and we'll have you on-line and ready to go as usual. Your friendly GTU Jet line service professional will be standing by to help you with whatever you need.Look for further updates via email, social media and newsletters as we get closer to moving day. As always, thanks for your business. We truly couldn't do it without you!

Best regards,

FROM THE RAMP: HAIL SEASON

The spring storm season has started and with that comes the threat of severe storms and hail. When we know bad weather is coming we'll make every attempt to move aircraft that are on the ramp into hangars.  We use our best judgement with the weather tracking tools we have to determine if moving aircraft is necessary.  If you would like your aircraft to be put in a hangar when there is a slight threat of storms, please notify us ahead of time so we can prioritize the space.

If you have any questions about moving your aircraft during inclement weather, please do not hesitate to call us at (512) 869-0900.

ARTIC AIR

With the warm weather and summer months approaching, we want to remind our customers that we offer Artic Air cooling for your aircraft.  In our experience, setting up the cooler prior to flight will decrease the inside temperature by up to 20-30 degrees.

For the month of May, we will be discounting the service to $10.00 per use (normally $20.00).  When you call ahead to have your aircraft prepared for flight, let our Customer Service Representatives know you would also like the Arctic Air hooked up.

You can purchase your very own Artic Air ice cooler right here at GTU Jet.  They come in 12 or 24 Volt models and can be used in flight.  For more information or to see the model, visit our Pilot Shop.

MEET RYAN

Ryan Kane started at GTU Jet in February as a Line Service Technician.

Originally from New Hampshire, Ryan came to Texas when he was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene where he was a C-130 crew chief for four years.  Ryan's favorite part of working at GTU Jet is interacting with great colleagues, tenants and customers.

When not at GTU Jet, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and 11 year old step-son.  He also spends time going to the gun range, lifting weights, and watching Game of Thrones.

Fun Fact: Ryan's first day at GTU Jet was also his wedding anniversary (February 13th).
