What would you pick?
You may have seen a "Good-Cheap-Fast but you can only pick two" sign at a local restaurant or floating around on social media. It's kind of funny, but I started thinking about it in terms of running an FBO. Our problem is we don't want to compromise on anything, and I'm guessing you don't want us to either.
You're betting your life on good, quality fuel. I wrote about some of the daily quality control tests we run in last month's newsletter. Those tests cost money. I'm guessing you're glad we're doing them though. Sure, some operators might forego those test to cut costs. They're not mandatory and other people in the supply chain are presumably testing the product for safety. What is that additional margin of safety worth to you?
I'd rather fly General Aviation (GA) than commercial anytime. You go when you want, eliminate the crowds and TSA hassles, and generally avoid feeling like cattle being herded in a pen. But the whole GA experience falls apart when you can't find anyone to pull your plane from a hangar, equipment is broken, no one is at the front desk, there's no internet, the restrooms are filthy, and you feel compelled to apologize to your passengers about the overall lack of service.
Fact is, good product with service delivered quickly, competently and professionally costs money. We'll always look for ways to safely cut costs and pass the savings on to you. Stuff like turning off lights when they're not in use, or being careful not to bake too many cookies. But we will never, ever compromise on safety, or do anything that might disappoint you or your passengers from a service standpoint.

KGTU CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Taxiway improvements are expecting to begin toward the end of March. There will be occasional taxiway and runway closures and displaced thresholds during this time.

Melissa Kennedy started at GTU Jet in September 2016 as one of our weekend Customer Service Representatives.
Originally from Seattle, WA, Melissa came to Texas when she was stationed at Fort Hood. After 4 years in the Army, Melissa attended St. Edwards University where she received a degree in Business Administration. Melissa keeps busy and works full time as a construction record-keeper for TxDOT during the week.
When not at GTU Jet, Melissa enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Kevin, and their "mini zoo" - 3 dogs and 3 cats. Both Kevin and Melissa are looking forward to taking a trip and visiting family in Seattle next month.
