The 50 Fellas Food Fest

Thanks for your patience as GTU Jet played host to the first GISD Ed. Foundation's new fall fundraiser that featured 50 manly teams, including mayor Dale Ross, superintendent Dr. Fred Brent, police chief Wayne Nero, fire chief John Sullivan, and more, showcasing their culinary talent with appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Team creations were judged by guests and awarded by popular vote - there's nothing like a little friendly competition to get things cookin'! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as we met many new friends and sampled an amazing array of tasty tidbits. Every dollar raised benefited the students of GISD.

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of KGTU Tower Manager, Jeff Wilson. Jeff was a friend to everyone here at Georgetown Municipal Airport and he will be missed by all. We send our sincerest condolences to all of Jeff's friends and family.

With the winter months approaching, we would like to take a moment to remind you of the importance of winterizing your aircraft.

At GTU Jet, we pride ourselves on the number of services we offer our customers. Did you know that we offer TKS Deicing Fluid service? TKS is an anti-ice/deice system originally developed during WWII to protect military aircraft.

We're happy to refill your TKS system for you for $24.95 per gallon. This is the same price you'd expect to pay from other sources, but we'll refill your system for you as an added service. We are all about the service!

Sick of lugging around your flight gear? We have a great deal on locker space right here at GTU Jet! For a limited time, we're offering brand new lockers complete with a placard with your tail number for 25% off! That's just $15 per month with this special offer! The convenience alone will make it worth it! Stop by the front desk and reserve yours today!

Alexis de la Galarza joined the GTU Jet team this past April as a Line Service and Vehicle Maintenance Support Technician.

With over ten years experience with the US Army Avionics as an Electrical Lead Technician, Alexis brings a huge amount of knowledge and professionalism to his position at GTU Jet.

Alexis' favorite part of his job at GTU Jet is the team work necessary to keep our well-oiled machine running.

In his spare time, Alexis is studying for his technical management and helicopter instrument pilot's license. He also loves spending time with his family.

The next time you're at KGTU, stop in and say hi to Alexis and the rest of our GTU Jet team!

Georgetown is known for having "The Most Beautiful Square in Texas" but did you know it has some of the best restaurant options too? Our favorite this month is El Monumento. Located just outside of Downtown Georgetown, El Monumento offers farm-to-table fresh Mexican cuisine in a laid back atmosphere overlooking the San Gabriel River. Their prices are reasonable and they have Happy Hour specials everyday!
