A message from our General Manager

Pilot's Shop

We have all been there... you are ready to launch and you realize at the last minute that you have dead batteries in your flashlight, or have a nervous passenger that looks like they might lose their lunch. Not to worry, we have you covered. We have thoughtfully stocked our pilots shop with everything form Sic-Sac's, Dramamine and Tums, to batteries, Emergency Tool Kits and Sectionals. We are also an authorized distributer for David Clarke headsets and Arctic Air Portable Air Conditioners. We even have a great assortment of the ever popular "Remove Before Flight" line of products. It is one of the ways we try to anticipate your every need to get you comfortably on your way on time, every time! If you don't find what you're looking for let us know. We are constantly re-evaluating and refining our offerings to meet your needs.

As you probably know, airport construction is going full throttle at Georgetown Municipal Airport. Speaking with Airport Manager Russ Volk today, he estimates they are about ten days behind schedule due to weather. With more weather heading this way as I write, that number will likey grow. The good news is they have found the soil to be so rocky, that they may have to use a different process which will eliminate some of the curing time for ground preparation. Naturally, that should help speed things along. We try to keep everyone up to speed on the latest airport developments on social media. Like us on Facebook or Linked In and follow us on Twitter for the latest information on what's happening on the airport.

Professional Training

I am proud to report that your staff at GTU Jet is 100% NATA Certified! Everyone from our Customer Service Respresentatives to Line Service and Facilities Maintenance have completed Professional Line Service Training or CSR Training as appropriate. Even Brad Lamb and I have even completed our Supervisor's training. We have also conducted a hands-on fire extinguisher training providing everyone an opportunity to extinguish a real fire. Nothing like hands on experience if we are ever faced with a real emergency. Next, we will be conducting CPR and AED training. Clearly, we are dedicated to providing you the most professional, safest and knowledgeable service we possibly can!

As always, thanks for your business. We truly couldn't do it without you!

Caitlin Chiacchia joined GTU Jet in April as a Customer Service Representative. While new to the aviation industry, Caitlin has developed an interest in the business through her Uncle Paul, who runs a private airline in Massachusetts. A proud graduate of Boston College, with a degree in communications, Caitlin is busy growing GTU Jet's social media presence and marketing initiatives while also learning as much as possible about the aviation industry.

A native Bostonian, Caitlin recently moved to Texas to escape the harsh New England winters and embrace all that it means to be a Texan. While not at GTU Jet, Caitlin enjoys spending time with her family; husband, Jim, and two children, Luke (3), and Charlotte (2), and her exploring her new hometown of Georgetown.
